It might be more revealing to look at data that reflects some incentive, like large sales of stock just before a meteorite crushed the corporate HQ, or people leaving town the day before the earthquake.<br /><br />I'm not sure about that being careful about changing the past thing. Given that small causes can have big, unpredictable effects, just being there and breathing the air and buying a donut* can have huge effects.
