There's something nice about genuine eye contact and 'feeling a connection' (woobified term, obviously) with someone on stage. Feeling like a person in a position of power cares about you is often rather pleasant/intimate, especially in a time where prolonged eye contact is fairly rare - which might explain the pull-quotes that Braco's got about his audience's experiences.<br /><br />Then again, it's probably just total rubbish.
